Commerce Casino has opened its new luxury resort hotel. With the new hotel and the expanded casino, the resort becomes one of the largest casino properties in California. The elegance and detail of its exotic Babylonian theme created by architects Thalden • Boyd Architects brings the property up to the best Las Vegas has to offer.
The Crowne Plaza hotel has two hundred luxury rooms and VIP suites. In addition to first class accommodations, the resort includes a uniquely themed sports bar, retail shops and two themed restaurants. It also includes a Las Vegas style showroom and banquet hall, sun deck, spa, and health club. The casino also offers a California Grill, New York Deli, Las Vegas Buffet, Tropical snack bar, and Sushi bar. The casino restaurant serves an amazing variety of outstanding Asian cultural cuisine.
With the hotel construction, the casino has also been expanded and re-themed. Visitors entering the front door are greeted by a ‘larger than life’ Hannibal in his chariot with four white horses, roaring through the lobby. The lobby, with its fountains, murals and hanging gardens set a unique tone. The extensive use of marble, granite, custom designed carpets, crystal chandeliers and gold-leaf railings create elegance comparable to the finest hotels in the world. "We recognize that gaming in California is about to become very competitive," says Thalden, "we wanted to set the image from the beginning of being the finest place to play. Actually it is more than just a place to play; it is a total resort experience."
